Josh's documented story begins in LaGrange, Georgia.
Josh was twelve when a man from his church gave him a guitar and taught him the basics. He later served in worship bands from approximately age fifteen through twenty-three.
California · the return home · a new beginning
In 2014, Josh moved to California with a band, but the project fell apart. Near the end of 2016, he sensed the question, “Are you done trying all this on your own?” He returned to Georgia in 2017, kept writing, and taught himself piano and music production.

Inspired by 1 Samuel 2:2, the song names God as Rock, fortress, shield, provider, and solid ground.
Josh says he wrote it in roughly thirty minutes during a fourteen-songs-in-fourteen-days challenge. It became his first release and helped him identify his sound.
Written from the weight of mistakes, loneliness, and difficult seasons, “HIDING PLACE” is rooted in Psalm 32:7.

Josh describes his mission as changing the world around him one heart at a time—including the neighbor or coworker already in front of him. His music grew from years of worship service, a return to faith, and independent songwriting and production.
